The optical disdrometer OTT Parsivel2 observes the size and fall velocity of particles (Variable: raw_data) passing a band laser. From this raw_data measurement, the particle number concentration (variable: number_concentration), fall-velocity spectrum (variable: fall_velocity), total number of particles (Variable: n_particles), precipitation rate (Variable: rainfall_rate), equivalent radar reflectivity factor (Variable: radar_reflectivity), kinetic Energy of the precipitation particles (Variable: E_kin), Visibiilty (Variable: visibility) and two synop codes (Variables: synop_WaWa, synop_WW) are derived. A manual of the disdrometer can be found online on the webpage of the manufacturer at http://www.ott.com
