This product provides parameters obtained along the line-of-sight of observations of the custom-built Doppler lidar Wili (WInd LIdar) of TROPOS. In the daily data set files the following level 1 products are included: (1) Doppler velocity: This is the motion of the scattering target carried by the atmospheric flow along line of sight (LOS) (2) backscatter coefficient: uncalibrated attenuated backscatter coefficient (3) Signal-to-noise ratio (4) Quality mask of the LOS velocity based on a threshold of the Signal-to-noise ratio). Limitations: Similar data sets are also available for other sites (e.g., JOYCE) but for other Doppler lidar systems (e.g., Halo Photonics Streamline). The data provided in here is based on the custom-built Doppler lidar Wili and thus SNR and (uncalibrated) backscatter coefficient are not directly comparable to the other dlidCUST00_l1 datasets. For some days, data is not available on a continuous basis.

Comments: Original data together with quality flag and velocity error are provided. For Wili no velocity error is supplied. Wili (WInd LIdar) is a custom-built Doppler lidar of TROPOS, thus some system parameters are not directly comparable to the ones for HALO, Lockheed or Leosphere systems.
