MobaXterm (Remote Access)

To work from home using a windows PC or laptop we recommend using the program "MobaXterm". It allows access to our internal services like network shares or using linux programs with a graphical user interface.

Download

Download the program from the official website here. Please choose the "portable edition". This way you can use it without prior installation. For easy access save it into it's own folder, for example on your desktop.

Accessing the windows terminal server (WTS)

Our WTS provides you a Windows environment hosted internally at the CEN. There you will find all network shares you have access to, as well as preinstalled programs like Microsoft Office or Adobe Acrobat.

To configure the connection press the button "session" on MobaXterm. Then enter all information like described in the screenshot below (replacing the u-number with your own).

The program will save your connection for future usage. You can find it in the tab "sessions" on the left-hand side.

Access to linux server / programs

MobaXterm also allows you to connect to our high performance compute nodes for your compute tasks and show the graphical interface on your computer (e.g. Matlab)

You can find a list of our public compute nodes here. Some institutes have additional servers available, please contact your supervisor for questions regarding those.
