Urban Climate Lab
Urban areas with their local properties such as dense building arrangements, green and blue spaces and traffic modify the regional climate to form an Urban Climate. This can be mesured in meteorological variables such as temperature, wind, precipitation and air quality.
To investigate these effects the Urban Climate Lab employs different methods. Field measurements, physical modelling and numerical modelling describe and analyse metorological processes in urban areas and quantify the urban impact. They can also be used to describe development options for sustainable and livable urban areas.
The Urban Climate Lab contributes to the CEN-topic Urban areas in global change.
