Young minds solving climate change
With the Young Climate Scientists Award the Center for Earth System Research and Sustainability (CEN) recognizes outstanding Bachelor and Master theses. Graduates of the Universität Hamburg who wrote a thesis on a climate-related topic in natural sciences, social sciences or economics are eligible.
The winner of the Young Climate Scientists Award receives a 5,000 euro cash prize. Runner-up prizes are 3,000 euro and 2,000 euro for second and third place. Prizes are donated by the Gesellschaft Harmonie von 1789 e.V. The award will be presented every two years.
The award's patron is Katharina Fegebank, Second Mayor of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg and Senator for Science, Research and Equal Opportunities.
