Satellite based Observations
In the last decades weather satellites yield extensive observations of the whole atmosphere. The amount of satellites as well as the quality of the satellite based instruments has tremendous increased in the last years.
Satellite based observations are not the focus of SAMD, see data search at ICDC instead. Nevertheless SAMD includes a few satellite data sets, provides by the project HD(CP)². These data are for the most part re-formated data for the region of middle Europe in the SAMD data standard format.
The SAMD archive includes some data from MODIS, on TERRA and AQUA, and SEVIRI, on MSG.
