The Radiometrics microwave radiometer TP/WVP-3000 is operating on the roof of the radiation building at the Lindenberg observatory. The radiometer observes sky brightness temperatures at five frequencies between 22 and 30 GHz for water vapor profiling and at seven frequencies between 51 and 59 GHz for temperature profiling. The profiles are derived from microwave measurements applying an observation-based regression method REGobs. This methods uses MWRP and radiosonde measurements from the past to calculate regression operators. The method removes systematic errors and produces weak-biased retrievals with respect to radiosondes.
