Daily files of meteorological surface data containing air temperature, relative humidity, wind direction, wind speed, precipitation and air pressure from several sensor locations at the Falkenberg boundary layer field site (for details see descriptive instrument location).

10-minute average (except precipitation: 10-minute sum) values at the end of the measurement interval. The data acquisition rate of (1) , (3), (5), and (7) is 1 Hz. The average (sum) values represent the corresponding parameter at sensor level. At levels without measurements of a specific parameter missing values of -999.0 are set at the corresponding position in the file. In daily dataset files following level 1 products are included: (1) Air temperature at sensor level (2m): average offset correction is applied (see instrument specifications). (2) Current air temperature quality flag: 0 (undefined_quality), 1 (missing_value), 2 (quality_bad), 3 (quality_dubious), 4 (value_is_interpolated), 5 (quality_good), processed with internal QA routines by Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD) described by Beyrich and Adam (Berichte des Deutschen Wetterdienstes, 230, 55 pp., 2007). (3) Relative humidity at sensor level (2m): a nonlinear correction is applied (see instrument specifications). (4) Current relative humidity quality flag: see (2). (5) Wind direction at sensor level (10m). (6) Current wind direction quality flag: see (2). (7) Wind speed at sensor level (10m): The representative wind speed measurement is selected from the anemometers of 3 booms at the meteorological tower in dependence of the wind direction at the corresponding level. (8) Current wind speed quality flag: see (2). (9) Precipitation amount (1m): Based on an internal sampling rate of ~ 0.17 Hz, the Pluvio Ombrometer System determines a filtered (to prevent result falsification by e.g. wind influence) precipitation intensity every minute. No additional corrections were applied. (10) Current precipitation amount quality flag: see (2). (11) Air pressure (1m): The data acquisition rate is ~ 0.1 Hz. No additional corrections were applied. (12) Current air pressure quality flag: see (2).

Comments: The coordinates specify the position of the 99 m tower at the Falkenberg boundary layer field site, where the 10 m wind speed information originates from. 10 m wind direction as well as 2 m air temperature/humidity measurements are performed at a 10 m mast ~70 m south-south-east of the meteorological tower. Precipitation and air pressure sensors (each at 1 m measuring height) in turn are located in the container facility area ~90 m north-east of the tower.
