Attenuated backscatter coefficients (beta) together with sensor status and sampling flags, and data quality mask (qbeta) are provided. Qbeta was defined based on noise threshold.
Limitations: Data available only in presence of hydrometeors and sufficient aerosol load. Version 00 data files do not contain calibration coefficient for attenuated backscatter coefficient. When optically thin (beta less than 8e-6) ice clouds are observed in highest 600 m, noise threshold is over estimated. In the case of fog near surface, threshold is underestimated.
Provenance: Data of JOYCE, Processed by IGMK, University of Cologne
Comments: Original data together with beta quality mask and standard deviation of beta noise are provided. For more details see Ceilometer CT25k User guide and supplementing HDCP2 data description document.
