Subproject 1: Model building

Subproject goals:

This subproject deals with the fundamental question of how to integrate sectoral know-how with respect to urban systems, e.g. atmospheric and traffic modelling, using mathematical modelling techniques. The integrated modelling framework should than be used to maximize the target variable health-related urban wellbeing, which will be defined in close collaboration with subproject 4. This is the first step towards a multi-sectoral urban development and impact model.

Furthermore, subproject 1 works on topics related to the datasets used in UrbMod (e.g. public health data, environmental stressor data). Especially, the accessibility, the accuracy and the compatibility of the datasets as well as possible dependencies between the different datasets are of interest. Based on the results of these investigations the development of the GIS-platform (subproject 5) will be coordinated and interfaces between the existing sectoral models will be defined and implemented.
