ESA-CCI Antarctic Sea Ice Thickness

The SICCI data sets (from the SICCI approach and the Worby 1-layer approach) from the ESA-CCI Sea-Ice-ECV project are available for everybody. Please make sure that you take a look at

• the Product User Guide (pdf, not barrier free),
• into the ESA report about ICESat freeboard retrieval: D1.6 (pdf, not barrier free), and
• the ESA report about freeboard-to-thickness conversion: D1.8 (pdf, not barrier free),
• into Kern, S., and G. Spreen (2015), and
• into Kern, S., et al. (2016) 

to learn about the limitations and the format of the data.

Please cite both data sets with the mentioned paper Kern et al. (2016) and refer to the Integrated Climate Data Center (ICDC, CEN, University of Hamburg) as the data provider.

It is necessary to register with your name and e-mail using the contact form in order to get access, after filling out the form you will be directly redirected to the data set.

The data is used to answer your request and keep track of who is using the data, as well as notifying you from time to time of important updates to data sets. Your data will be forwarded to our provider AWI by email and will be saved until further notice. The data will only be saved for this purpose and not used for other purposes and no data will be passed on to third parties.
