Interactive visualizations

The interactive lithological map of the world is based on the Global Lithological Map database v1.1 and presents a very accurate picture of the Earth’s crust beneath its thin surface layer. The characteristics of rocks are represented approximately 100 times more accurately than in previous maps.

An interactive environment created with the Unreal Engine that shows the visualization of a 3km MITgcm simulation (1 year,  daily time resolution) is now available for download (11/05/2020).
