This data set version 1.1.0, 2016-9-27, doi:10.4232/1.12646 was downloaded from GESIS in SPSS and STATA format. It was converted by ICDC to ASCII (by means of the Python library savReaderWriter, CliSAP users can get the code readSPSSfile.py from the SCRIPTS directory) to simplify the usage without proprietary software.
To get the cumulated annual result that you find in the ALLBUS 1980-2014 variable report, see references, you have to multiply the single data values by the weighting factor wghtptow. An example evaluation of question v23 can be found in the program readSPSSfile.py in the SCRIPTS directory, which produced the figure of this data page.
